再登場イームズのラウンジチェア。戦時中、軍の要請によりイームズは、成型合板による担架や添え木などの開発にあたります。そのため彼の椅子は合板を使いコストも低くおさえたものが多くみられます。このラウンジチェアは、映画監督のビリー・ワイルダーのためにデザインしたもので、イームズとしては初の豪華なデザインの椅子です。
ミースのバルセロナチェアと並んで、エクゼクティブたちに愛用されている椅子です、ゆったりくつろぎたい時には最適でしょうね。ところで、私はこのラウンジチェアを自分たち専用にし、くつろいでいる２匹のお犬様を見たことがあるのですが、なんともぜいたくな使い方ではありませんか。
